5. What is the OBOZ program, and how can I get the 2 free Zakys for my Unit?
We are donating 2 Zakys to any hospital around the world.. Visit our OBOZ P rogram to learn more about it.
6. Where is the Zaky typically used in hospitals?
Originally it was used only in NICUs, however, the use of the Zaky has expanded to other units: Intensive Care Units (Neonatal, Pediatric), Labor and Delivery, in recovery rooms, transporting babies, cancer centers, burn units, etc, with babies, children, and adults. It is also used successfully when giving infant massages.
7. What size of patients can use the Zaky?
Anyone that can touch a blanket may use the Zaky. From micro-preemies to adults, from very ill to healthy people, in hospitals, at home, at child care facilities, in car seats, etc.
In the hospital it is usually the nurse that determines how to use the Zaky and the weight to be placed on top of the patient depending on his/her baby’s condition. The weight of the hand is determined by the amount of filling, so it can be from empty to fully filled.
8. What type of hospital provides Zakys to the patients or suggests the Zaky to the family members?
It is our experience that the hospitals that use/recommend the Zakys are those that are sincerely concerned with the improvement of the quality of life of their patients, their developmental wellbeing, and that are aware of the importance of the mother-baby relationship. These are the hospitals that either provide the Zakys to the patients or recommend it to the mothers.
